Housing Team

Purpose
The Housing Team is focused on assisting in the revitalization of the Charleston metro area by identifying and promoting affordable and desirable housing options, serving as a resource for current and prospective residents, developers and governmental agencies and acting as a catalyst for positive change in the Charleston metro area housing market.
Professional Development Team
Co-Captain – Danny Scalise, Smith Barney
Co-Captain – Nate Tawney, Flaherty, Sensabaugh and Bonasso
Purpose
The Professional Development and Leadership team provides opportunities for professional growth by providing the tools and resources needed to enrich the career experiences of Generation Charleston members. This team is responsible for both a monthly speaker series focused on a variety of business-related topics, and for creating business partnerships between Generation Charleston members and community leaders intended to foster career growth.
Communications Team
Co-Captain – Emily Bennington, Maple Creative
Co-Captain – Jennifer Wood, University of Charleston
Purpose
Subject to approval by the Communications Director of the Alliance, the Communications Team is responsible for both managing all marketing activities related to Generation Charleston as well as for providing promotional support for other work teams within Generation Charleston as needed. The Communications Team will work to increase community awareness of Generation Charleston its work, and its opportunities.
Special Events Team
Co-Captain – Gabrielle Corey, Alzheimer's Association
Co-Captain – Ryan White, Jackson Kelly
Purpose
The Special Events Team plans and coordinates both social and networking activities as well as special meetings and group activities to provide opportunities for interaction both among members of Generation Charleston with one another and among members of Generation Charleston with the Charleston community.
Membership Team
Co-Captain – Kaarmin Ford, The State Journal
Co-Captain – Josie Anderson, Chesapeake Energy
Purpose
The Membership Committee of Generation Charleston acts as a liaison between its members, the community and the Charleston Area Alliance by actively promoting the benefits of membership in Generation Charleston and recruiting new members from the Charleston community.
Community Outreach Team
Co-Captain – Kate McCoy, Steptoe and Johnson
Co-Captain – Brooke Pauley, BB&T
Purpose
The Community Outreach Team acts as a liaison between Generation Charleston and community-minded organizations, serving as a resource center for volunteer opportunities and providing opportunities for young professionals to enhance the Charleston community.
