Dear Investors and Friends,
As a member of the Alliance, you join the more than 700 businesses, government organizations and community groups that have united to, through the Charleston Area Alliance, build a more vibrant community and prosperous economy and cultivate an environment that ignites success and opportunity for all.
Looking back over the past 12 months we have had a host of success stories:

- Alliance works to renew the CASCI lease, retaining 600 jobs in downtown Charleston for a minimum of 15 years and up to 31 years.
- NGK Spark Plugs expands with assistance of the Kanawha County Commission and Charleston Area Alliance, generating new jobs and a multi-million dollar investment.
- MATRIC (a non-profit research organization which was birthed and nurtured at the Alliance) announces it has created 70 jobs in three years with the help of the Alliance.
- DPR, an Italian printing industry company, opens its doors in Charleston after being recruited by the Alliance and hires first employees in 2007.
- Alliance assists Krebbs International in its expansion to Kanawha County, opens office in Elkview.
- Alliance initiative to keep and retain young professionals in the region, known as “Generation Charleston,” grows to more than 600 members.
- Expansion Management names Charleston, W.Va., the 8th “Best in New Recruitment of Businesses,” a testament to the work of the Alliance.
- Alliance builds, develops, uses as a teaching tool, and sells ecologically, sustainable house on East End of Charleston.
These are only a few of the significant strides the Alliance has made just in the last year to build a more vibrant community and prosperous economy. For those of you who generously provide support to the Alliance through your dues and strategic philanthropy – what a return on your investment!
Sincerely,
